Unit 14 P4 and M2

Their are serval different ways for the photographer could send or share photos to the news desk one way is called tethering, this means sharing the internet connection of an internet capable mobile phone with other devices. This sharing can be offered over wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth or by using a cable the mobile then becomes a Wi-Fi hotspot which other can use the tethering services. Many mobiles are equipped with the software to offer internet access to phones some examples of the phones equipped with the software are Windows Phone 6, androids and iOS. The bennefits of tethering it allows you go online where their is no wireless network also you can browse the internet more securely on your phone rather than open unsecure wi-fi hotspots. The issues of tethering are that some Wi-Fi connection rules do not allow tethering also the tethering device might not be fast as you would expect.

Another way to send or share photos is sending it through email or upload it to a blogsite which are both able to download on to a computer or laptop examples of blogsites are Twitter, Posterous or Facebook as a JPEG file. And to send the photo file onto the email by saving the photos onto the computer or laptop and upload it as a JPEG on the email and send it to the news desk. The problems of using tethering are that it is a breech of the phones contract and a problem with sending a picture through a mobile phone is that it costs more and the resolution size reduces which means less pixels in the picture.

M2

And when comparing the different ways of sending the picture to the news desk such as tethering and sending it over a mobile phone, tethering is better and most android phones have the software but some contracts do not allow tethering and find this has a breech of contract but some speacial contracts allow tethering, while sending the picture through a mobile reduces the resolution and it costs extra and finally when comparing them to uploading it to a blogsite it is faster, easier and able to download onto your computer/laptop and it does not cost anything and easier to find by sending it to your desktop.
